Baby-cize – Active Kids Start Early

Although baby may seem too fragile, it is never too early to start her on a baby-cize exercise routine encouraging her to build a healthy lifestyle. Start with supervising baby during the following exercises to begin building a physical routine early on.

Tummy Time – Although baby should be put to sleep on her back, make sure she gets to spend some awake-time on her belly. Even though she may not like it at first, tummy time will help her build strength as she tries to lift her head and push up on her arms. Help her enjoy this unfamiliar experience with encouraging words or by entertaining her. Place her toys around her, just out of her reach. Stretching for the toys can help with the development of her motor skills.

Stationary Play Center – Place baby in a stationary play center that comes equipped with stimulating and interactive toys. This will not only entertain her, but help build sensory and motor skills as well.

Jumper – Give your arms a break and let baby be a jumping bean in a jumper. Not only will she be building those leg muscles, but it will give your tired arms a welcome rest.
