Make feeding time better for you and baby
  • Baby's tummy may be tiny, but it needs to be filled often. A bottle-fed newborn eats every 3-4 hours, while a breast-fed newborn eats every 2-3 hours.
  • Although baby may be upset because he is hungry, try not to feed him while he is fussy. A calm feeding will help prevent hiccupping and spitting up.
  • A bib can be the perfect accessory to salvage baby's adorable outfit. Gerber offers an array of bibs made with a soft touch Velcro® closure, perfect for any messy situation.
  • Burp baby every 3-4 oz. if bottle-fed or each time mom switches breasts. Keep a clean burp cloth handy to clean up dribbles and spills.
  • Be sure to change baby's diaper before nighttime feeding, as she will surely fall asleep during or directly after eating.
